Gabriel Torres attends Cal Poly State University majoring in City & Regional Planning.
Before this internship, Gabriel was introduced to the affordable housing field and
was delighted when he learned of his acceptance as an intern. Originating from the
Central Valley, Gabriel understands the plight of the low-income families and farm workers.
His college education has been contingent upon him learning urban and rural planning policies
because Gabriel wants to make a difference. His fluency in Spanish coupled with his experience
in Information Technology should prepare him to become an outstanding Project Manager.

Peoples' Self-Help Housing Corporation is a California non-profit organization who's main goal is to provide affordable hosing for families in the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.
Peoples' Self-Help Housing Corporation (PSHHC) is a regional private
community development corporation, incorporated in 1970. PSHHC provides
affordable rental housing and helps families build homes and obtain mortgage
loans. PSHHC has spent its first 28 years evolving into one of the strongest, most
exemplary community based housing development corporations in the country
with national award winning programs. PSHHC has already produced over
fifteen hundred housing units for low-income seniors, families, farmworkers, and
other special needs groups on California's Central Coast with many more in
development. PSHHC also provides technical assistance to numerous cities,
counties and community groups with the design and implementation of affordable
housing programs.
